LAHORE: Principal Ameer Uddin Medical College Prof. Dr. Sardar Mohammad Al-freed Zafar has said that honorable retirement after completion of tenure is not less than a great honor for any employee and everyone going through this process should bestow before Allah Almighty. He added that the Government has to spend a lot of money from national exchequer on education and training of a doctor so it is needed that women doctors must join the medical field after MBBS and complete their tenure. He said that unfortunately the majority of female doctors have to leave the medical field after getting married which is not as per requirement.

 These views were expressed by Prof. Al-freed Zafar while addressing the retirement ceremony of Dr. Maimona Ashraf, In-charge of Gynecology Unit 3, PGMI/LGH. He said that millions of rupees are spent on each doctor’s education and training while parents also do not spare any effort for investing on the bright future of their children and there is dire need to reap maximum fruits of this hard work. Other speakers on the occasion paid homage to the services of Dr. Maimona Ashraf. They said that she treated the singing patients in a very good manner and modern way during her tenure and also she guided his juniors in the best way so her services to the organization will never be forgotten, and his successors will also follow her footprints.

 Talking to the media, Principal PGMI Prof. Al-freed Zafar said that Doctors were performing their professional duties on the front foot during the Corona epidemic of which the entire nation is proud of them. The function was attended by Prof. Muhammad Moin, Prof. Farooq Afzal, Prof. Muhammad Hanif, Prof. Judat Saleem, Dr. Ghazala Ruby, Dr. Komal Sikandar, Dr. Rizwana Tariq, Dr. Mehwish Ilyas besides a large number of faculty members, doctors and paramedical staff. Expressing best wishes for Dr. Maimona Ashraf they admired her tenure at LGH. On this occasion of her retirement Dr. Maimona Ashraf also described the time spent in the institution as memorable and thanked the Principal PGMI and other seniors for their cooperation and also appreciated the organizers of the function in her honor.
