PROVINCE WITNESSED A SIGNIFICANT DECREASE IN COVID-19 INFECTION RATE, 153 NEW CASES WERE REPORTED IN LAST 24 HOURS IN PUNJAB

UP TO THE PRESENT 327,422 PATIENTS HAVE BEEN FULLY RECOVERED WHILE THE TOTAL NUMBER OF ACTIVE CASES ACROSS THE PROVINCE IS 8,271: SECRETARY P&SH SARAH ASLAM

Lahore July 02:

            Secretary, Primary & Secondary Healthcare Department Punjab Sarah Aslam reviewed daily activities of COVID-19 across the Punjab. Province witnessed a gradual decrease in COVID-19 infection rate. Yesterday 153 new cases have been reported, bringing the total number of cases to 346,454. Until now 327,422 patients have fully recovered across the province while the number of active cases is 8,271. Yesterday 19,157 test samples were taken while a total of 5,674,063 tests have been taken so far. In the previous 24 hours, the corona virus caused 6 more deaths across the province, including 2 deaths in Lahore, bringing the total number of deaths to 10,761. Last day 76 cases were reported in Lahore, 22 in Rawalpindi, 9 in Multan, 7 in Dera Ghazi Khan, 7 in Faisalabad, 6 in Pakpattan, 5 in Sialkot, 3 in Bahawalpur, 2 in Bhakkar, 2 in Hafizabad, 2 in Mandi Bahauddin, 2 in Sheikhupura, 2 in Vehari, 1 in Gujranwala, 1 in Gujarat, 1 in Khanewal. 1 in Layyah, 1 in Rahim Yar Khan, 1 in Rajanpur, 1 in Sahiwal and 1 in Sargodha. Yesterday, the average positivity ratio of COVID-19 was 0.8 in all the cities across the province. The provincial capital Lahore recorded a positivity ratio of 0.9, 1.3 in Rawalpindi, 1.1 in Faisalabad and 0.8 in Multan

            In this regard Secretary P&SH Sarah Aslam said that Vaccines for COVID-19 are available in abundance at all the centers, so all citizens over the age of 18 must be vaccinated against the corona virus.
