Punjab has reported more than 25 deaths during the last 24 hours. According to the statistics released by the government 3000 people contracted the coronavirus and more than 59 died on last day. This figure is the highest since July 9.
According to data total number of infected persons reached to 382,892 and death tally reached to 7,803. Total number of infected from coronavirus reached 3009 on last day. Graph is showing the rise in all parts of the country. Sindh recorded 1382 cases with 13 deaths, KP 382 cases with 9 deaths, Baluchistan 45 cases with 01 death, Islamabad 424 cases with 6 deaths, Punjab 648 cases with 25 deaths, Azad Kashmir 113 cases with 4 deaths and GB 15 new cases with 01 death.
A day earlier, Asad Umar, Federal Minister for Planning and Development has asked the nation to observe SOPs so that nation could not face a disaster like situation. He told the media that nation might face the worst situation in two weeks time if proper safety measures were not adopted by the countrymen.
“We experienced a peak in Covid-19 cases in June and if we do not follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), we may face the worst situation in the next two weeks,” Shafqat said at a joint press conference with Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Health Dr Faisal Sultan.
Last day Prime Minister Imran Khan chaired NCOC meeting and decided to ban indoor dinning in hotels and public gatherings. Primer also directed the administration to take help from religious scholars, ulema and Imam Masjids to implement the SOPs effectively. NCOC meeting also endorsed the dicisions of education minister to close the education institutions.
