PM Imran promises universal health insurance for GB

Prime Minister Imran Khan has announced the health insurance for GB (Gilgit Baltistan) on Wednesday.

Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that poor family has to face many problems when some member of the family get sick. They are bound to sell their household or take loan to pay the medical treatment. PTI government has decided to give health coverage to all people in GB. He was addressing the oath taking ceremony of new elected government of GB.

He announced Rs.1 million health coverage under sehat Insaf card and members of the family can avail treatment at any hospital.

Imran Khan also announced to initiate Ehsas Poverty Allegation program in Gilgit Baltistan.

The GB governor, Raja Jalal Hussain Maqpoon, administered the oath from 14 members of cabinet.

Prime Minister Imran Khan congratulated the new government and hoped that the new government will set new standards and traditions. He said that he is the first prime minister of Pakistan who has complete awareness about this part of the land and knew the potential of the area. He said federal government is granting provisional status of province to GB so that sense of deprivation can be eradicated. Committees are already working on this issue and government is waiting for their recommendations.

Premier announced the upgradation of Skardu Hospital so that people of area get proper treatment instead of traving to Islamabad for treatment.

While addressing the ceremony Prime Minister announced soft loan for locals so that they can build hotels and guest house for the tourists. He said Islamabad is working on different projects to promote tourism in this area.
