Islamabad: In second wave of lethal coronavirus the active cases tally crossed the 50,000 figure on Wednesday, according to statistics released by the National Command and Operations Center Islamabad.
According to data 3,499 news cases reported on Wednesday that raised the number to 406,810 and active cases reached to 51,654. The pace of new cases has quickly increasing in second wave of Covid-19 and 29,881 new cases registered in past 10 days.
Province of Sindh was on top with new cases. 1983 new cases registered in Sindh, 727 in Punjab, 417 in Islamabad, 218 in KPK, 85 in Azad Kashmir and 16 in Gilgit Baltistan in past 24 hours. Total number of deaths have reached 8,205 as 39 lost their lives in past 24 hours. Total numbers of deaths in Punjab reached to 3091, Sindh 2,968, KP 1,378, Ajk 173, Baluchistan 169 and GB 97. NCOC data reflected 1586 people recovered from Corona virus in past 24 hours and total number of recovered patients climbed to 346,951.
Although government has imposed many restrictions to curtail the virus but the pace of infection is increasing in the country. Government has imposed smart lockdown in most effected areas and closed the educational institution in the country. Federal government is following the recommendations of CNOC and directed the people to wear masks in public places, limited the numbers of guests to 300 in marriage ceremonies and shifted these ceremonies to open areas and closed the shrines, cinemas and theaters. It is mandatory for all public and private office to work with 50 percent staff.All examinations have postponed.
