Moderna Inc said that they have received a report from the Health Department of California that many people are being treated for allergic reactions in San Diego from a particular batch.
The epidemiologists have issued a statement to providers to stop the vaccination process from the lot 41L20A due to allergic reactions which are being investigated.
“A higher-than-usual number of possible allergic reactions were reported with a specific lot of Moderna vaccine administered at one community vaccination clinic. Fewer than 10 individuals required medical attention over the span of 24 hours,” told the epidemiologist.
The vaccine makers were unaware of the allergic reactions from the vaccination centres which have vaccinated people from the same or different batches.
Total 1,272,200 doses were produced from the batch and 307,300 doses remained from the lot that are now stored.
“Nearly a million doses from the lot have already been distributed to about 1,700 vaccination sites in 37 states”, Moderna said.
