LAHORE, March 09: Punjab Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid chaired the 23rd Syndicate meeting of the Fatima Jinnah Medical University here on Tuesday. 

Present in the meeting were Additional Secretary (Admin) Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department Amir Hussain Ghazi, Vice-Chancellor FJWU Professor Dr. Amir Zaman Khan, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Shirin Khawar, Medical Superintendant Ganga Ram Hospital Dr. Ehtashamul Haq, MS Govt Mozang Teaching Hospital Dr. Munir Ghauri, Chartered Account Al-e-Imran Siddiqi and officials of Finance, Higher Education and Syndicate Members. 

Health Minister approves budget for Mozang Hospital 1

Registrar Fatima Jinnah Medical University presented agenda items during the meeting. Dr Yasmin Rashid validated all decisions in the 22nd syndicate meeting of the FJWU. The syllabus was approved for nursing programs. The approval was granted for sanctioning of an SNE-based position of Assistant Accounts Officer, refurbishment of Shujaat Ali Hall and hiring of the janitorial staff and security staff besides a lift for handicapped students of the university. 

The syndicate meeting approved the setting up of a parking stand and canteen for patients. The PLA budget for Mozang Teaching Hospital for the year 2020-21 was also given approval. The Minister also approved positions for Punjab Thalassemia Project. The syndicate also approved consultant for development projects of Ganga Ram hospital. Approval was also granted for the position of consultant for reforms and coordination and financial management. 

The Health Minister said, “Some very important decisions were taken during the syndicate meeting of the FJWU. Important decisions were taken for students and employees. Special emphasis is being laid on research work in Punjab’s Medical Universities. The syllabi have been designed as per international standards.”
