ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar has signalled that government is taking the note of serious violations of SOPs in the country and if this attitude continue government will close more sectors in coming weeks.

Addressing a press conference after the National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC) meeting, Umar noted the rising spread of coronavirus in the country and there may come a point in the next two weeks when the government will be left with no choice but to close down more sectors.
He pointed that it is unfortunate that the nation is not showing solidarity to fight against the corona virus infection in the second wave. He told that government has limited the gathering at 300 but it is not being implemented and it is a major cause of spread of corona in the country. He requested the people and politicians to follow the corona SOPs.
Asad Umar said that the political statements of oppositions leaders are misleading the nation and people are not taking care of corona due to contradictory messages. It is time we should have unified stance against the Covid-19.
“Democracy does not mean political leaders risk people’s health and employment,” said Asad Umar.
