LAHORE:On the directions of Health Minister Punjab Dr. Yasmeen Rashid and Secretary of Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education of Punjab Government special vaccination counter at Labour Room of LGH for newly born children is so far successful as they are not discharge until get immunization. This was launched at LGH in December 2020 where during the last 3 months 1495 babies born in LGH labour room have been vaccinated with early birth vaccinations while parental counseling has also been ensured in this regard. Ameer Uddin Medical College Principal Prof. Dr. Sardar Mohammad Al-freed Zafar while talking in this regard told that with the provision of this facility, parents have avoided the hassle of coming back to the hospital to vaccinate their newborn babies and now they have this facility in the labor room very after birth. Dr. Laila Shafiq briefing the Principal PGMI said that round-the-clock staff duties have been scheduled to vaccinate infants and this roaster is being observed in letter and spirit. EPI In-charge Shahnila Komal, Nursing Supervisor Anwar Sultana and others were also present on the occasion. Prof. Al-freed Zafar said that children under the guidance of the World Health Organization must complete a course of vaccination against 11 diseases up to the age of two years, which begins with the birth vaccination that parents can ensure to complete the immunization course for their child as a first duty so that they can live a healthy life and play their part in building a positive society. Principal PGMI further said that Punjab Health Department has made a new history by adding typhoid vaccine in the course of immunization of children from this year which is a proof that CM Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar and his Government is how much committed in the welfare of the people and in addition to providing modern medical facilities at all levels, far-reaching measures are being taken for the prevention of diseases for which all resources are available to the people. Prof. Al-freed Zafar further said that Health Insaaf Cards are being provided on priority basis to ensure the provision of quality medical services to the people in private and public hospitals. He also urged the doctors, nurses and paramedics to make every effort to meet the expectations of the Government and the people for the treatment of the sick ones and take special care of infants’ vaccination.
